A Case of Inflammatory Pseudotumor of the Liver

Abstract

|
Inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver is a rare benign lesion and frequently misdiagnosed as a malignant lesions. This tumor is an inflammatory and reactive lesion of unknown causes.
We present a case of inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver associated with undifferentiated carcinoma of the gall bladder.
A 60-year-old female was admitted for the evaluation of right upper quadrant pain. Wedge resection of liver and cholecystectomy were performed on the basis of a clinical impression of the cancer of the gall bladder or liver. Removed liver
revealed
ill-defined mass. Microscopically, the mass was composed of spindle cells, foamy histiocytes. lymphocyte and plasma cells. The gall bladder was infiltrated with undifferentiated carcinoma cells.
